Well, I may as well just tell you... Reality is Unreal! Yes, that's right you heard me. And, no, I am perfectly sane and ALL my wiring is in place!
When I had my interview with Dr. Hubbel we talked about "reality". The conclusion we came to is that "reality" is unreal. How so? It has to do with perspective and "life experiences". After that discussion, the thing I found humorous is when people would say, "The reality of it..." because what always needs to follow that phrase is "for me!" It is all about the conditions you have generated in your life and your outlook at any given time. One person can have many more possibilities in their life. They are optimistic. They see the glass half full. Half empty does not occur for them. Have you known optimists like that? Look at Edison. When he invented the light bulb, on his last failure, he said something like "I found 99 ways not to do it." His focus was on doing it. Some call that genius. The light bulb is not an efficient source of light, but it does give light and you don't need a fire going to get it. So, my point today is that reality is personal. Maybe that's why Mark Twain said, "Your opinion of me is none of my business!" Your opinion is a product of your judgments and evalutaions. Who knew he was a scientist probing "reality"... see that's my reality...

Intensity
Some days are just intense. There can be a variety of reasons for that. The important thing at the end of the day is to just be able to let it all go. All life just IS... yeah... it just is. There are various things we buy into in our process of living. And, what IS more important than life. Ultimately, life is our authenticity. It is the reality of us. Watch your life "play out" and you have a sense of your spiritual journey. As you engage in the outcomes, your life actually shifts. That is why at the end of the day... let it all go. By doing this you have a shot at altering all that has gone before. In the process of living, we can miss words that are spoken that come from our own emotional attachments to the ongoing outcomes we are generating through our emotional energies. The release allows a reset. It creates a transparency for us to take a look as if with new eyes, at least eyes unclouded by our attachments and judgments. That process is important. This process is similar to the adage, "A watched pot never boils!" We see this lesson in all of life. Try holding your breath for 3 minutes... yeah, that's what I mean. Same analogy. So, my point is, it is important to take regular breaks from life and the end of the day is perfect. It can be as simple as ending the day with gratitude. Your life, no matter what outcomes may have been generated, is this perfect gift for you. As much as we might "think" otherwise, life is not a random event, but very specific and very specific to the energies you hold on to. We worked with these in the lab. I've seen them permeate people in very surprising ways. Of course, that's why Dr. Hubbel hired me. To somehow see these correlations and make "sense" out of them. You CAN release yourself from all these accumulated judgments and emotional energies. At some point I can talk about that. What you do is very intuitive. At its heart you always know what to do... the trick is to DO it!!

Don't You Just Love it!
Yes, I do! It's how changes occur. There's all this fear in the way. Then suddenly something just wells up inside you! Even though their comfortable, we can sit in our smelly diapers only so long then they start to itch. That is even a good metaphor for our health. You can "tell" yourself whatever you want... then there is the truth. The Truth is the "real" effect your actions are having in your body. You need to serve that up, even though it seems painful. That's why Alex has been so helpful in my life. I go in deep, find the spots of discomfort and talk about them to her. She's been amazing for me. If there is a reason to have an objective friend - that's it. Not to get biblical on you, but from my perspective that is the whole point of Chapter 12 - Gifts of the Spirit. Each of us has different gifts to share. Find that gift and share it!! Marsha Sinetar - did a book - "Do What You Love and the Money Will Follow". By the way, she didn't say close your eyes, quit your daytime job and leap. Ultimately you wind up doing that and THAT is EXACTLY how it looks, but that's like saying ... oh that's an overnight sensation... yeah over 20 years!! So, my real message is prepare. Like from Godspel - "Prepare yee the way of the Lord.." that would be you. Let your goodworks go before you as a testament to your greatness. Learn to believe in yourself. Pull away all those ideas and that stuff in the way. My mother thinks, my father thinks, this person won't like... first off... I would ask, "Do you know that for sure? Or, are you making it up out of a deeper fear..." So, don't you just love it, pick up that fear and have it walk with you! Start doing what inspires you! That's really what the message of my story is. The journey of 1000 miles starts with one step... make that first step and when you finish it... you'll know the next step... so, write that email, send that text, mark that calendar, as Nike says "Do It!" And, when you've done that... let me know how it went!!

Is Dr. Hubbel In?
Ah yes, Dr. Hubbel. None of my comments here would be complete without his mention. Call it what you will, but Dr. Hubbel is basically doing psychic research! In his lab, he is probing into the mind, how we perceive reality and what we can do with that kind of data. Well, at least he has been getting grants for that. My work with him has been moving rapidly as we test various subjects and see how they react in our experiments. Sometimes it's pretty intense. Like the time Ross flipped out from lack of sleep. Now that I mentioned Ross, I have to tell you, even though he is a bit younger than me, I haven't met a man with more heart. Really. That's why I noticed him. He does have a few rough edges, but that really is part of his charm. That and the way he was able to disengage from his rich family. Ahh..sweet Ross. Sorry, I shouldn't coo so much, but he did represent a challenge for me to stay focused on my work but HUGE gift at the same time!
First I met Dr. Hubbel and interviewed with him. Talk about the power of attention. I really wanted to work with him and do this "mind" research. So, I just set my sights on it! That simple. Too many times in life we talk ourselves out of things. I could have let my lack of an official PhD hold me back. But, hey, I was ABD! That's all but doctoral thesis. So, I had everything for my PhD, but I had not had my thesis accepted. So close, and in this case cigar!! I figured where could he get a person with my overall experience to assist his research? I was suprised that even with their budget restrictions he had some very sophisticated equipment. Then too, maybe they measure psycho-kinetic influence with meters in "Ghostbusters", but that's not the way it really happens. Sometimes data is just data, you know. Two dimensional, on a sheet of paper! Doesn't sound very futuristic does it? In that case, I would love to have the napkins of Albert Einstein! Futuristic, indeed! It's more about what the data is physically saying. Anyway, THAT is exactly why Dr. Hubbel wanted me to work there. He had a good sense about what I could do, especially after we had the "reality talk" at my interview. I even started to make changes in process before I was working at the labs officially.
Talk about a reduction in my stress level! The labs made my work at ICE look like slave labor by comparison. Work at the labs was tough in the beginning, but the wrinkles soon smoothed out. Hey, my attention was on making my life more fulfilling. Isn't every change like that? You know, there's all this fear going into it and soon, if you haven't over-thought everything, things just get better. Change agents motivate you, but then you need to grab the bull by the horns and make the "hard" decisions. Well, I did!! Freaked Ben Archfeldt out, but that's another whole story!!

We Interrupt Your Regular Scheduled Montressa Visit!
Montressa is taking a break today so that I can tell you about some of the changes I've made to her blog and some additional information.
1) I added some graphics. Hope you enjoy them. When I told an artist friend of mine about the story, he came up with the sketch you see. I actually have a fully developed complete book for the spiritual/self-help market. It has a completely different, highly artistic cover developed by my son Martin, a graphic designer and photographer whose work is on the front covers of major Detroit mags. But, the spiritual/self help market may be too limited. When I developed the story it was actually a screen play that "played" in my head that I converted into a "novel" format. So, ultimately I want to do the movie which would require a broader market for the book to motivate either independent producers or Hollywood types.
2) My focus is to provide value for blog readers. I'm still in the process of developing "ICE, India & Old Lovers" in terms of the final product and market placement. There will be a follow-on book that I developed with a high profile editor, more on that if there is any interest.
3) I have opened the comments to the public. If you would like to comment on or ask Montressa a question about a specific post or anything about this blog that would be great! Feel free to post it.
4) Any comments you have in the direction of development are welcome as well. I have a friend of mine who has read my pre-publication book and randomly opens to pages in the book every few days and says she always gets something that seems to apply to her life. Her question to me was, "Why haven't you "really" published this!!" Client of mine, as I noted in about MTV, said, "It starts with the journey of the central character and ends with the transformation of the reader." This blog is a product of that embarassing question and that comment!! Then there is the person, the one beside my wife, that really got me moving - see comment 6!!
5) If you enjoy this blog, find it useful or entertaining please forward the link to friends. This is important both for the blog itself and the information that is being shared. Plus, it will guide me in the best way to market the story. My plan as this unfolds is to ultimately development a non-profit. So, as they say, my mission is noble!!
6)Lastly, I need to mention Annie Burnside! She is the author of "Soul to Soul Parenting" and classifies herself as a soul nurturer. First off, stop reading this and go get her book! Yes, that's how important it is! Next, get back to this blog for you to surface the issues in your life that may be holding you back!! We need to shift ourselves so we can be quality parents for our children. Annie has read my pre-publication copy and because of her comments I decided to go full tilt on this!! You can find her on Facebook. Thanks so much Annie. YOU, as I have said to you before, are the REAL DEAL!!
To all the readers: Thanks for reading all this fine-print about the blog. Montressa just can't wait to get back to talking about her life!!

Life is Fascinating
Yes! It is! I have always found life fascinating. Of course in my youth I didn't see it as clearly as I do now. But, then my background was unique too. Still, between all the hard work I've done, Givens and even my family - yes my family even, I am in a place of self ownership. Well, I know for awhile I was at odds with my family. I couldn't keep doing what they saw as my life. That's all. That unexpected trip to India changed my life. Parts of that trip were, to say the least, eye opening! Of course that's what friends are for, too. I need to tell you about my BFF, Alex Tarnoff. I really mean that. Alex has this amazing ability to see right through things. Me certainly. I'd bring my confusion to her and guess what? She'd help me see how it was all me. And, the funny thing is, she was able to do it and I never got upset. I'd be like duh... okay. Even though she and I were buds, she had that detached objective way of being. She would just listen to me. Do you have someone in your life like that, that just listens? You know Dr. Lissa Rankin says that friends and social things extend your life because it invites the relaxation response that is vital to physical renewal. You should check her out she's on Facebook. Well, I can tell you that Alex is a vital friend for me. She always seems to calm me down. Well, Mike says I've been rambling too much. I'm like, hey, this ain't rambling this is my life, dude! You know, life is promises and requests. You make a request, you get a promise. Real simple... as long as you make good on the promise. And, if you can't make good on it... that's okay... just notify the other person. So, my point IS I'm going to honor Mike's request.

Montressa Talks About Her Journey
Well, I'd be lying if I told you I didn't enjoy my job! Oh, I do... well... a... I did... that job anyway. But I did start to see things differently. Ben Archfeldt, he was the COO. My dad put him in charge. When a company crashes you have to do what you have to do to recover your loses. I just saw it as an opportunity to use what I know, not to mention to show my dad what I can do! Oh yeah, there's always that undercurrent that runs through you. That feeling that you are not quite enough. It took me awhile to deal with that. Well, the fact of the matter is that you are more than enough. It's YOU who think you are not enough and the universe responds accordingly! Don't believe me? Don't! That's perfectly fine with me, but I'm going to keep telling you about me. The book will tell you the story and Mike did a good job of capturing those elements. Still, you can't put me in a box so neat and tidy! There's so much more to me than meets the eye in the story. My guess is you can tell already. There's just something about this Montressa person, isn't there. Well, yeaah. That's because there is.
So, back to Ben Archfeldt. Nice guy, a little short-sighted at times, but he WAS my boss and if you are going to be a team player... you play ON the team. You don't go running off to Daddy and say, "Ben, he's being difficult! He want's me to go to India on short notice!" And, part of that is because I do love my dad. Yeah, even though he was a bit short-sighted at times, too. Actually about a lot of things it turns out. Of course that is MY judgment of things. And, as you can tell I do have my opinions about the way the world "should" be. I'm sure you do as well. Well, let me ask you - How should the world be? The first thing you will tell me is - there shouldn't be any suffering, right? Part of he "suffering" comes from resistance and judgment. We say, this shouldn't be this way! It's wrong! Yeah, I get it. I shouldn't have had the parents I did! It WAS wrong!! Well, not exactly. To be totally clear, my parents didn't get there by accident. Neither did Givens! Can you imagine? I learned my greatest most important lessons from Givens, but if I didn't have the parents I had those lessons wouldn't have had the huge impact they did. That's why I got soooo... upset when he got sick. But see, by that point I had finally accepted that I just needed to trust myself. And, I did. And actually, that trust played a role in how I chose to be with Givens.

Montressa Is In The Building
Well folks... Montressa is in today! Without further fanfare - Montressa Tesworth
Hi! I'm Montressa Tesworth and no disrespect to Mike BUT sheesh.. how long you gonna make me wait!!
Look, world changes start with you! Okay? There I said it! Yeah, I know nothing new here, right? We are all part of the human condition. Well, at least the condition we have chosen to live so far. First off, all of us have things that cover over who we each are. Lord knows I've had my struggles... I mean especially with those beaus, those men in my life. You know I can see who they are... but you know they don't get themselves. No really. They don't. Shit, even this Mike guy. Yeah, yeah, sure he's the author of me... well, I been around for long time and he is FINALLY letting me speak my piece!! Okay, so back to my mens. It's like to tell them stuff... even for their own good... I mean I have to hold a mirror under their nose to see if it fogs!! Hey, anyone in there? You alive or what? Oh, yeah. They pretend to be alive, but I've seen them in unguarded moments. Moments where they are totally willing to show what they are made of. I've seen them shine. I really have. Then suddenly pfft... it's gone. That's why finding a man is so hard today. Really! Check out these boardroom types... yeah movers and shakers..well I'm not quite sure what they are shaking but sure ain't my love muscles!! Boooring!
That's my thing. Just be here now for longer than a few seconds. So, here I am... my biological clock ticking. I mean can you hear it!! It's deafening.
So that was the thing. That trip to India did it for me. Talk about a wake-up call! I wasn't back in the US for few months and Tom shows up. Okay. How do you resist Tom? Football star. Grad school buddy. Of course my parents were not very thrilled with him. They figured it was that growing through that adolescence thing. Hello, news flash, I'm in grad school folks!! The world doesn't stop just because you're busy with all that important money and society stuff.
For me, the sad part was I had no metrics to judge my life with. Yeah, you could say I was born with a silver spoon. And, you'd be right. That's why 8 years later India rocked my world. Basically, I'm really a spiritual type. Of course I didn't realize that until I was willing to recognize that there was part of me that was missing. Sure, it all looked good on the surface, but my models were few and far between. Know how I started to see the value of every human being I encountered. Givens. Yes, Givens my dad's valet. He changed my life. Well, my mom and dad sure weren't going to. They had all to do to take care of themselves. My brother Garrett did everything right, too. Me, I was a black sheep. They almost used to apologize for me. Garrett had his estate and was a globe hopper for Tesworth Enterprises. So, as I started to see things differently I would have my little chats with Garrett. It all looked good on the surface. Huge house. Businesses all over the world. But, look at him. The tiredness shows in his eyes. His wife, Darlene, a typically supressed mogul's wife. Incredible artist, but going with him to all these business functions. I can tell you that wasn't going to last that way!
Then there's me, The Communictions Director for ICE. Yup! That's my official title. But, I can tell you I was all but married to ICE. I was going to make the company go if I had to crawl on glass. And, guess what? I did. Dad noticed me then. By then I almost didn't care. I did it because it was fun... for awhile.

What is Montressa Views Life?
Who is Montressa?
I knew you would be wondering about this. Montressa Tesworth is the central character from my book, "ICE, India & Old Lovers". Montressa has had many things which many people wish for. She comes from a wealthy family and could have anything she wants... but, now in her mid-thirties she wants something money can not buy... she wants to own herself. Not who she thinks her mother thinks she should be, not who she thinks her father thinks she should be or her brother... but who SHE choses to be!To be sure, she has had a life that can prepare her for this trans-personal transformation... but in the final analysis she must take the leap that can begin to define her! This blog is an adjunct to my book and to really understand Montressa you need to know her back story. That is in the book.
So, I was sitting on the sofa in my greatroom just now and something said... you have had a blogspot blog for years and never done anything with it... get up, tell people how Montressa has shifted your life as well as her own!! Yes, Montressa is my "fictional" character... but let me say this... she has her own view of life. So much so, that I actually may be a channel for someone. But, I don't believe in that stuff. At least channelling. We each own ourselves totally and it is a free will universe. However, in this one case, I am willing to let Montressa tell it like it is for her and in light of her back story it will make perfect sense... then again she has a quote about that in the beginning of the book that is a must read because she is intimidated by no one and an Einstein quote preceeds it!! Yes, even Einstein does not intimidate her!!
Well, that's it for my first post!! In my next post I will introduce Montressa. I'm sure you will find her as fascinating as I do.
